What expected is not happening. It was widely believed that no other Kannada film would get released on the day of release of Rs.25 crores worth Kranti Veera Sangolli Rayanna. Dakota Picture is clashing with KVSR. Additional problem for genuine audiences who wants to see one after the other – it cannot happen.

 

The day has come – KVSR of Anand Appugol, biggest film in the history of Kannada cinema is releasing on November 1 and on this day Rockline Productions very prestigious banner in Karnataka is releasing a remake film ‘Dakota Picture’ a comedy flick in over 60 theatres. KVSR is expected to release in over 200 theatres. Darshan, Dr Jayaprada, Nikita Tukral and 30 other Kannada artists film a historical one by director Naganna on Rayanna with Keshavaditya support, Ramesh Babu Cinematography, V Harikrishna background music, Yashovardhan music ‘KVSR’ is three hour cinema.

 

I did not know that ‘KVSR’ is coming on November 1. They have not announced the date. It was known only on Saturday evening. Otherwise I would not have released my film ‘Dakota Picture. Now that I have announced, I cannot take back my film says Rock.

 

Now what is the ‘Tondre’ – difficulty for the audience you would ask? The difficulty is in maintaining the timing especially.

 

KVSR and Dakota Express have one hour difference in screening. KVSR is three hours cinema. It has to start at 10 am in the morning and morning show would be over by 1.30 pm with fifteen minutes interval. The matinee would be over by 4.45 and around same time the first show starts then the show would be over by 8 pm. From 8 pm to 11.15 pm is the night show ending time.

 

The change in the timing is what the film makers have to seriously think. For regular films it is 10.30, 1.30, 4.30 and 7.30 timing. The night show would end before 10 pm.

 

Look at the people who want to see KVSR and Dakota Picture on ‘Rajyotsava Day’. They have to either go for 10 am show of KVSR and 4.30 show of ‘Dakota Picture’. The situation is now faced by the media people on November 1.

 

When the media finish KVSR watching they cannot get in to Dakota Picture because half an hour film would have been over.
